It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was on her way.

"An opportunity to go out there and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself that way, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a major tournament.
