Explore 29 New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Including a Commander Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-loving heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, the game's creators, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Check out here at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with key context. Everything listed below releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into all the various special decks and collections on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Play boosters for the expansion are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can play powerful creatures onto the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability because that plane is it originated and it is iconic to that,” a senior designer stated. “However on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is among four cards with special art designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards outside of your main deck, so was I. Yet as per Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

Following the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to ensure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be in standard and which sets would be near it in Standard,” the designer says. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures who could work as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone rather than only one). Take a look below:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Wizards told that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an extra thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Calculating roughly, that also means approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the deck comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a bundle. This one costs $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil basic lands
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • One storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Each pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new TMNT art. The team showed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the prize for winning)
  • 90 Regular land cards (for building your deck)
  • Ten Non-foil token cards
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products specifically for new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The concept here that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
